ABSTRACT
Objective: In homeopathy, most of the raw materials for the preparation of medicinal products are used in very dilute doses. These high-potency medicinal products do not contain any substances at the molecular level. Health professionals trained in homeopathy state that the substance does not remain at the molecular level, but the energy of the substance used in the preparation of the medicinal product is present in the prepared homeopathic medicinal product, and therefore the homeopathic medicinal products used are effective. To find an answer to the accuracy of this statement from a scientific perspective, it is planned to evaluate the effectiveness of Arnica D30, one of the most academically studied homeopathic medicinal products, on DOMS in athletes. In addition, it is aimed to contribute to contribute to the existing scientific knowledge and production to contribute to its integration with modern medicine by improving awareness about homeopathy and offering more treatment options to physicians to restore patients’ health. Material and Methods: A meta-analysis was conducted toexamine the effects of Arnica D30, one of the most studied homeopathic medicinal products by scientists, on delayed on set muscle pain in athletes between two separate randomized controlled studies registered in the scientific literature, which are extremely homogeneous in terms of the scale used and sample quality. In this context, the VAS mean difference between Arnica D30 and placebo was used as the effect size. “www.e-picos.com”, NY|New York software and “MedCalc” statistical package program were used to evaluate the data. Results: While the difference in VAS mean values between Arnica D30 and placebo is 0.114, the 95% confidence interval is between -0.119 and 0.328. Conclusion: While it was determined that the mean difference in VAS between Arnica D30 and placebo was not significant, it was concluded thatArnica D30 intervention had no effect(p=0.36).
